Workshop: Integrating UltraGenda Pro within the hospital information system

This training course is aimed at IT staff who are responsible for the integration of UG Pro within the hospital information system. You will learn about the field of application, the use and the configuration of web services, visual integration, Active Directory integration and HL7 connections. You will become familiar with test and simulation tools, using practical cases to discover the best way to integrate UG Pro with hospital-wide applications and departmental applications. The following subjects are covered:

• The various integration methods: HL7, web services and visual integration.
• Configuring, testing and monitoring the interfaces.
• Use case 1: integration with the MPI (master patient index): via HL7 ADT messaging or through the web service interface.
• Use case 2: integration with request and order entry systems: via HL7 ORM messaging, through visual integration or through the web service interface.
• Use case 3: integration with departmental systems (RIS/PACS, cardiology, nuclear medicine, dialysis, etc.): bi-directional link via HL7, including the synchronisation of appointment types.
• Use case 4: integration with the patient record: showing the doctor and patient appointments, starting up via visual integration.
• Use case 5: user synchronisation via HL7 and authentication via Active Directory.
• Use case 6: publication of the availability of doctors on the hospital website.
• Use case 7: automatic registration of the patient using a kiosk application.
• Use case 8: representation of hospital admissions in UG Pro.
• The importance of master file synchronisation and coding.
• Top 5 most frequently occurring integration problems and their solutions.

Prior knowledge:
You are familiar with the various applications and functions within the hospital information system and the basic functions of UG Pro.

Method:
Workshop with practical exercises and examples. Each participant has a workstation available with tools for simulating and testing the integration methods.
